My artistic practice examines how the role of femininity and personal experience exists in the non-physical space of the internet and video game worlds. This industry often excludes or misrepresents women, where instead this should be a platform that provides opportunities and new experiences for under-represented individuals. I have selected many of my favorite games from the Nintendo 3DS, as it is designed to have a general audience, allowing for more casual players to find interest. This is also the console I have the most attachment to, and spent the most time with. Through the act of painting, I am using the medium of physical art to uplift the importance these game titles have, and the feminine experiences within them. I create art as another way to play and curate, similar to playing dolls or in virtual worlds. I intend for my work to inspire others to celebrate their own niche interests.
